The rules in detail

Loto 6 is a Japanese game in which a player picks 6 different numbers from 1 to 43. One unit costs 200 yen, and the seller is the Zenkoku Jichi Takarakuji group.

Each draw takes a Bonus Number in addition to the six main numbers. The player does not choose it. It is used only to decide 2nd prize and has no effect on 1st prize. The 1st prize odds of 1 in 6,096,454 equal the number of ways to pick 6 numbers from 43.

Draws are held every Monday and Thursday, except during the New Year period.
